Our next walk will be a longish woodlands ramble through the Clowes Wood nature reserve near Solihull (6-7 miles). We’ll start and finish by Earlswood Lakes.
This is a lovely flat walk, taking in a view of the lakes as well as woods and meadows and a golf course.
Overall, the walk holds few challenges but there are many kissing gates, a few stiles and several footbridges to navigate – some have the odd plank missing so you will need to take care when crossing.
Since we will be walking across fields and meadows as well as along established footpaths, it will be quite wet and muddy in places – particularly if we get more rain next week. Good, watertight boots are a must.
Please be aware that there will be some road walking, mostly in the first part of the walk.
Remember to bring some lunch / drinks and something to sit on.
Well behaved dogs are welcome but will need to be able to cross stiles and footbridges.
Contact us for details on how to go to the start of the walk.
We are still collecting for Women’s Aid, and optional donations of 1£ (or more) will be welcome.
