Join us for July’s Boot Women walk: a five mile circular in the area of Milford Common and Cannock Chase.
We’ll be taking in the historical Shugborough Hall, home to the Earls of Lichfield, and the nearby impressive packhorse bridge which is the longest remaining of its kind in England.
Cannock Chase has an extensive area of forest woodland and parkland and was designated as an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1958 because of its beautiful landscape, its wildlife and its history.
There are no stiles on this walk, but there are a couple of busy road crossings, some stepping stones, a narrow bridge, and several gates. Despite this, the walk is suitable for well behaved dogs as usual.
We will start and finish at Milford Common. There are toilet facilities opposite the car par. (And there is usually an ice-cream van on the car park 🙂 )
There is also a pub opposite for post walk refreshments.
Remember to bring some lunch / drinks and something to sit on.
Contact us for details on how to go to the start of the walk.
We are still collecting for Women’s Aid, and optional donations of 1£ (or more) will be welcome.
