Next walk: Saltwells Nature Reserve, 13 March 2022

This month’s walk is another of the Cut ‘n Coal trails following the history of our industrial past. The walk leads us through one of the UK’s largest urban nature reserves, Saltwells National Nature Reserve, which is characterised by its mixture of world-class geology, bluebell covered ancient woodland and nationally important heritage.

The route is four miles long and generally moderate but it includes one steep incline. We will cross a busy road so please take care. The path is likely to be muddy in places and walking boots are recommended.

Remember to bring some lunch / drinks and something to sit on.

Dogs are welcome but they must be kept on a lead as ponies graze in one of the fields.

Contact us for details on how to go to the start of the walk.

We are still collecting for Women’s Aid, and optional donations of 1£ (or more) will be welcome.
